We welcome 2014! Happy New Year!

Posted on: January 2, 2014

One of the things I have enjoyed these past few weeks is receiving the year end emails from our ITBOs.  There is a common thread in them stating 2013 was a challenging year but expressing gratitude for the way it caused them to focus on leadership development in their anticipation of 2014.  Faith, hope and love are still the most powerful motivators I know.   Love for what you do and who you do it for, plus hope and faith for the significant results is a driving force in our lives.

As each of us start the new year, I would like to pass on the words of Jim Janz in his book Rendezvous with Destiny.  I trust each of you will buy one and use it for personal mentoring. It is jammed packed full of great inspirational tips especially for home based business entrepreneurs who don’t have corporate culture and disciplines to help maximize your success.  You can get this book at Trivita and if you are an ITBO then it is in your back office. Jim has been a friend of the family for many years and yes very successful as an entrepreneur.  He has great advice on excelling at what you do.

Jim says, “I‘ve never met a true success who was more interested in hanging with the crowd than in getting it done in spite of the odds.  Be willing to excel if it’s in you to do it. “

Here are four points he gives to help us achieve:

1.      Be enthusiastic. It makes you stand out in the crowd. Winston Churchill once stopped to talk with two guys working on a construction site.  He said, “what are you doing?” One said, “I am digging a damn ditch”, the other worker said, “I am building a cathedral sir!”

2.      Be committed. Stay until the job is done, not until the clock hits a certain hour.  People who are truly committed are rare. You find them in amongst the 5% range and always in the winner’s circle.

3.      Be involved. The game isn’t played from the sidelines; it’s played on the field. Fear and lack of self-esteem keeps us from being involved. Armchair quarterbacks don’t make the award ceremonies. People who are involved and committed have more fun and feel more engaged and complete than those who stay on the edges.

4.      Be a starter. Don’t be afraid to be the first one in. Someone has to lead. Learn everything you can about the enterprise you are in. All you have to do is run a little faster, know a little bit more, and network a little more effectively.

I know some of our ITBOs have had some serious health and financial challenges this past year and feel more like survivors than achievers.  So if you don’t think you are achieving and feel more like you are surviving, Jim says in his book, “survival is about attitude, creativity, guts, and putting your boots into action.  Accept the losses, and the pain, and dare to move on to the bigger, better, and more prosperous and health-filled days. Give survival a chance!”

Sometimes life has cycles of great achievement and other times it is more like surviving. What I do know is the ones who make it through the cycles are the ones who exhibit the above behaviors as success is not final and failure is not fatal if you will change.

I am looking forward to 2014 and the boots on the ground with attitudes for success.  One of the major new enhancements to our wellness business efforts will be the launching of the Trivita Online Wellness Store and how it will help our ITBOs create the personal branding for their wellness business.  This along with the social media connection will be a great opportunity for those who dare to move forward believing in their destiny.

Again, be enthusiastic, be committed, be involved, be a starter.  Sounds like a great way to start 2014 anticipating all the new products and ways we have to enhance your wellness business.

May 2014 be your prosperous new year!

Michael

I’m sharing the four points with my team this morning on our weekly call. Well timed. Life goes up and down and if we breathe along with it and focus on dreams-with goals-strategies and Heart-commitment- encourage and build others as we grow, we will have success. Thanks for your words Michael, and a very Happy, Blessed, Prosperous in all ways and an exciting year ahead for you, Susan and your family.

With thanks.
Laura

Happy New Year Michael to you and your family! It is going to be a great year with the new initiatives. 2013 held it’s challenges but in business, and we know first hand from our previous business we owned, there are ups and downs. One door closes and another opens and we think that is the case with the new TriVita Online Wellness Store. We look forward with excitement and enthusiasm for what 2014 will bring. We look forward to reading Jim Janz’ book.

Michael, another great message and very timely as we move in to what we believe will be the best year ever. 2014 is going to be a year to remember. Jim Janz book is a winner and if his principles are applied, you will be successful in life and business! Bryan & Tammi

Michael, I finished reading “Rendezvous with Destiny” this morning.
Wow…..lots of nuggets!
I now plan to give it to another ITBO in my group so that they can be blessed
by what Jim Janz has to say.
Excellent prep for the upcoming year!
